The Story Behind Porla

Porla is more than just a project; it's a deeply personal journey born from a desire to challenge societal norms and empower girls and women in Uzbekistan. Growing up in a society where traditional gender roles often confined girls to the home, I experienced firsthand the limitations and expectations placed upon women. Yet, thanks to the unwavering support of my mother, I defied these expectations and pursued higher education, ultimately earning a scholarship to study abroad in the UK.
